Phase 1 of the Jasper Bike Park is now in place after eight years of planning! Since 2014, the Jasper Park Cycling Association (JPCA) has coordinated discussions and activity for a local Bike Park with Hoots Ltd. on board to assist in its development and implementation. Working with the Municipality and Parks Canada, a detailed review and approval process was carried out engaging an environmentally sensitive approach with lease agreement for a parcel of land in the southwest area of Town.

In summer 2022, Hoots Ltd. constructed the first of two Bike Park phases in coordination with the JPCA which includes multiple jump lines and features along with start / return deck housing progressive wood-rock drops and ramps, and multi-use perimeter trail. Plans for Phase 2 are underway with the Hoots Ltd. crew set to return in summer 2023 to expand the Bike Park with an advanced Flow Jump trail, junior and senior pump tracks, skills circuit with wood-rock balance features, and additional start / return hill.

The JPCA will continue in their fundraising and efforts to support the Bike Park working with the Town, Parks Canada and the community, alongside Hoots Ltd. Much thanks and appreciation goes out to local businesses and outfits who donated aggregate materials, rocks / boulders and lumber, as well as machinery / equipment; and volunteers who came out to help in clearing, brushing and building of various features including the wood-rock components.
