The Bike Park was built in unused land beside a main thoroughfare under high voltage power lines with a competition BMX race track ~1 km distance away. Surrounded by family packed neighbourhoods, provisioning of the bike skills facility required the partnership of the City, Greenway Landscape Architecture and Hoots, alongside full community engagement.

Design was a direct result of feedback from public input sessions held and the riding facility is also the first Bike Park built with specific criteria for wheelchair access. Hoots completed all detailed design work and came on board with construction working with City staff alongside local youth and riders to help meet a demanding opening schedule.
Penzer Bike Park includes a huge variety of technical progressive features with dynamic jumps and skills areas that includes a suspended ride over 300 feet long. The series of jump lines from beginner to expert brought in some new school ‘slope style’ features to complement the flowy feel of the Park.
