Merritt Bike Skills Park, BC (2006)

Skills Parks

Originally designed and built by Hoots in 2006, the Rotary Bike Park was a monumental community led project. It included a progressive jumps line with return berm and roller series, pump track and skills zone area. The facility helped elevate mountain biking activity in the Town of Merritt and provided a welcoming, safe area for riders to practice and develop their skills.

In 2018 the Bike Park was renewed through the efforts of the Merritt Mountain Bike Association (MMBA) together with the community. This involved replacement of the wood components having reached their lifecycle alongside newly shaped dirt jumps, features and a dedicated pump track.

As outlined by the MMBA ‘though the 2018 rebuild modernized the Bike Park layout, its legacy footprint remains a staple’. The greater community park also houses a skateboard park, playground area and multi-use trail welcoming all user groups, riders and visitors from the Town and beyond.
