In 2006, IMBA Canada and the Burns Lake Mountain Bike Association invited Hoots to design and build the first Flow style trail in northern BC creating a pro line that would challenge riders for years to come. ‘Smells Like Bacon’ integrates with the topography with added dirt and technical features to create rhythm & flow.

Due to the grades and landscape for the A-Line type Flow trail, it was decided to opt for a fully progressive super roller coaster adrenaline rush freeride trail that offered all levels opportunity to ride and session.
While building, ride clinic / sessions were offered to better understand ability levels and needs which translated into responsive trail design, options and skills features. These include pump rollers, jumps, berms, step ups, drops, wall rides and numerous wood-rock components.
Working with IMBA, the trail design maximized use of topography and natural elements, and built using on site materials and sustainable construction methods to accommodate slopes and proper drainage.
Built with IMBA and assistance from the Association and volunteers, the success of the trail saw Hoots commissioned for the 2007 design-build of the Bike Park with jumps area, pump track and skills zone, alongside developing initial maintenance protocols for the trails systems developed.
