Benchlands Bike Park - Canmore, AB (2008)

Skills Parks

The Bike Park was built in 2008 in the north area of Town. Working with a top shelf contractor alongside enthusiastic volunteer community, it was the second of two bike facilities to go up to enable easy access and opportunity with Millenium Bike Park in the south completed earlier in the month.

Like Millenium, planning during the design phase involved the local bike club and representatives to assess and respond to the needs of the riding community, user groups and Town criteria.

With volunteers showing up, some as far away as Edmonton together with those who helped with Millenium, it was great to pool all the efforts and hardwork to create a creative, progressive riding facility with Flowy set of jump lines and timed berm / roller return options alongside series of connecting wood-rock skills features.

The Bike Park provides an array of jumping, pumping and technical skills components in less than a 1 acre area, with the club identifying various features and elements they wanted to provide for a fun and challenging training centre for the kids and community.
