The Bike Park was built in 2008 with a top shelf contractor working together with Hoots alongside enthusiastic volunteer community to complete ahead of schedule. During the design phase, the Town brought in the local bike club and representatives to assess and respond to the needs of the riding community, user groups and Town criteria.
Millenium Bike Park sits within a larger recreation leisure area in the south of Town with surrounding greenspace and woods. It was the first of two bike facilities to go up to provide easy access and opportunity for all with the Benchlands Bike Park in the north completed later in the month.
The kid-friendly Park accommodates beginner - intermediate progression through the connecting rollers, berms, cross-over lines and little jump features integrated into the pump track; as well as more advanced opportunities on the wood ladders, bridgework, log rides and skinny riding options featured along the skills trail built through the wooded terrain.
With looping pump track circuits and unique skills feature trail, the Bike Park provides opportunity for riders of all levels and abilities to practice their bike handling, navigation and balance in a safe and welcoming environment.
