Rip N’ the North Bike Park - Vanderhoof, BC (2009 - 2011)

Skills Parks

The Rip’ N the North Bike Club formed in 2008 with aim to build a Bike Skills Park in Vanderhoof, and worked with Hoots in 2009 for the design and construction of the Park for riders to develop their skills in Town.

The Club successfully fundraised over $390,000 for completion of the bike facility and development of a local trail network. Upon returning in 2011, Hoots updated the Bike Park with full range of features and components to welcome novice to pro-riders. The Park is home to a variety of dirt jumps for every riding level, with drop zone and a skills area to hone in bike balance and handling. There are also cross-country and downhill trails through the forest incorporating various dirt features and jumps, as well as techy wood ramp, cornering and drop elements to add to the challenge and fun.

The venue has been popular with the community even in wintertime with snowboarders and sledders rippin’ it up. In follow-up years, the Club has continued to maintain and upgrade the Bike Park and Trail System, helping further establish the Town as a go to mountain bike tourism destination as part of the Northern Mountain Bike Tourism Strategy.
