After 4 years, the Town brought Hoots back in 2024 to dial in the Jumps and re-establish drainages with organics and debris cleared, and jump lines reshaped to bring them up to their performance intent. The Start Hill was also expanded for improved access, and all jump line features were fine-tuned to optimize rider experience!
Check out links for the Hoots crew test riding & shredding the jumps alongside local riders!
The Town also brought in their carpentry team to re-purpose wood from downed trees and repair / renew the skills complex. Planning is now in the works for Hoots to revitalize the mini Bmx track and wall ride at the south.
The lead up for the Bike Park goes back to 2010 when Jay coordinated with the Township to carry out public consultation for detailed design with a local contractor undertaking construction. Following up in 2018, Hoots was called in to reboot and update the facility, and engage with local riders.
Integrated within the greater Aldergrove Athletic Park, the ~1.5 hectare Bike Skills Park is surrounded by baseball diamonds, soccer fields, tennis courts and community garden with nearby community centre and high school. A popular go to, riders of all ages and abilities continue to enjoy the facility with variety of riding opportunities including start / return hill and entry drops, progressive jump line series, and wood skills components with elevated complex, alongside Bmx mini 4X course.
