After many years of planning and development, the City is home to an exciting bike destination that offers unique and diverse riding experiences with comprehensive Bike Park and over 6km of multi-use trails.

Beginning in fall 2016 when members of the local Speed Demons XC mtb riding club presented to City Council with a vision for a Ride Training Centre, presenting other successful Bike Park examples in the region and public survey results in support. Over the next few years, Jay Hoots worked with the group and City to develop detailed design and in spring 2018, helped facilitate an open house with plans to begin construction in 2019.

From 2019 - 2023, the Hoots crew worked together with volunteers to build cross-county riding and multi-use trails, and extensive Bike Skills Park over multiple phases that included large scope Senior Pump Track in cleared area working with the grade, and Junior Pump Track within the lower forested area.

Riders and the community continue to enjoy the Bike Park, and now with thematic signage that complements the Cold Lake Museums and natural setting!
