Several years in the making, the Mcildoon family reached out to Hoots in 2018 for the design and development of a cool Bike Park to commemorate their son, Jordan Mcildoon - a local rider, mentor and inspiration to the community who was taken in the Los Vegas music festival shooting.

As one of the crew noted, these ‘incredible individuals turned their loss into a win for the community by crowdfunding an amazing project in their backyard!’ The family worked tirelessly with Hoots and the City in helping facilitate public outreach activity to shape the Park with local businesses, contractors, charity organizations providing meaningful donations to support the project.

Once approvals were obtained, the Hoots crew hit the ground running working through rain & shine alongside volunteers, riders and friends of Jordan who came out to help with building, shaping and finish work.

Integrating into the existing natural space with local trails to the north, Catell Creek to the east and Silver Creek Gathering Place at west, the area is a favoured spot with playground, splash pad and sports court. Other newly developed facilities include parkour area, skate park, pavilion and paved pump track with official opening celebration in August 2022.
