JM Bike Park, Maple Ridge, BC

{alt_text}

The Jordan McIldoon Bike Park is now complete! Packed with fun and goodness within a 1/2 acre space, the built design houses beginner to advanced riding areas with Start/Return decks, Progressive Jumps Sets including Semi-Tables, Gap Jumps with Wood Take-off Ramps and 36’ long Wall Ride, alongside Skills Area with the famous Baia brothers beam and signature JM boulder ramps.

Several years in the making, the Mcildoon family reached out to Hoots Ltd. in 2018 and have since dedicated significant time and effort for the design and development of a cool Bike Park to commemorate their son, Jordan Mcildoon -  a local rider, mentor and inspiration to the community who was taken in the Los Vegas music festival shooting.

As one of the crew noted, these ‘incredible individuals turned their loss into a win for the community by crowdfunding an amazing project in their backyard!’ The family worked tirelessly with Hoots and the City in helping facilitate public outreach activity to shape the design, with local businesses, contractors, charity organizations providing meaningful donations to support the project.

Once approvals were obtained, the Hoots crew hit the ground running, working through rain & shine alongside volunteers, riders and friends of Jordan who came out to help with building, shaping and finish work.

Integrating into the existing natural space with local trails to the north, Catell Creek to the east and Silver Creek Gathering Place at west, the area is a favoured spot with playground, splash pad and sports court. Other newly developed facilities include parkour area, skate park, pavilion and paved pump track with the official opening and celebration in August 2022.

Check out Jake & Jay jumpin' and pumpin' through the park! And thank you to everyone, the sponsors and volunteers on behalf of the Mcildoon’s for bringing the JM legacy Bike Park to fruition!
